The Dauphin County coroner’s office on Monday night released the cause and manner of death for Sophia Subedi, who died after falling unconscious in the wave pool Thursday night at Hersheypark. She was a member of the Bhutanese community.

A 9-year-old girl who drowned in the wave pool at Hersheypark will be laid to rest on Wednesday. Sophia Subedi had been living with her family in Harrisburg since 2022 and had recently completed third grade at North Side Elementary School in the Central Dauphin School District.
