Paul Skenes had recorded his ninth strikeout on his 98th pitch, getting Eugenio Suarez swinging at a sweeper for the second out in the sixth inning, when Don Kelly walked onto the field for a mound visit.

To say Paul Skenes has had an incredible start to his MLB career would be a wild understatement. After an impressive college career at LSU, Skenes, 23, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 MLB draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
