The Menendez brothers were convicted of murder in 1996 after they shot their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, at point-blank range on Aug. 20, 1989. After years spent in trials, the brothers were both convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison, and while serving their sentences, they both got married.
“They’ve paid that debt,” Ian Brennan says ahead of Lyle and Erik’s upcoming hearing on Aug. 21 and 22.
