KAHIKINUI, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A massive brush fire that broke out Monday on the southern slopes of Haleakala has been fully contained, Maui firefighter said Saturday.

The Kahikinui was initially estimated at 500 acres (202 hectares), but aerial surveys overnight put the estimate at about 330 acres (134 hectares), Maui's fire department said.
