The Penguin star Colin Farrell recently became the third actor to win a Golden Globe award for playing a comic book villain. Coincidentally, the other two recipients of the rare honor — Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix — also won for playing a Batman villain.

After his Golden Globe win for The Penguin, which happened at the 82nd Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday, Colin Farrell is now the third actor after Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix to take home the award for playing a Batman antagonist.

While accepting his third Golden Globe win, Farrell joked about the massive physical transformation required to portray Oswald "Oz" Cobb — a role he first originated in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. "No one to thank on this one. I did it all by myself," the actor quipped when he took the stage. "Just a raw, paired away performance."
