BOSTON — The Red Sox recalled utility infielder David Hamilton from Triple-A Worcester to take injured Marcelo Mayer’s spot on the 26-man roster.

Boston Red Sox rookie Marcelo Mayer was placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday, retroactive to Thursday, as the infielder suffered a right wrist sprain. Infielder David Hamilton, who has played 62 games for the Red Sox in 2025,

The Red Sox recalled the speedy David Hamilton from Triple-A to take Mayer's spot on the roster. Hamilton saw action in 62 games for Boston before he was sent down, where he hit .179 (going 22-for-123) with three doubles and three home runs. On the base paths, he was successful on 15 of his 18 stolen base attempts.
