Browns cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. was carted off during practice July 29 with a left leg injury, later confirmed to be an Achilles.

BEREA, Ohio — Browns starting cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. spoke before practice of doing a lot of soul-searching in the offseason to get back to his elite level of play. By the afternoon, he was being carted off the practice field in tears on Day 6 of Browns training camp with what appeared to be a serious lower left leg injury.

Yet, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam oddly brought up the 2025 draft months later during Tuesday's training camp media session. Haslam stressed that general manager Andrew Berry "made the call" to draft Sanders and seemed to suggest that he himself had not been in favor of the Sanders pick.
