National Weather Service meteorologist Zachary Yack said the storm would be "almost identical” to the winter storm that brought high winds and coated the city in 0.15 inches of ice earlier this week,

The Peoria area is in “the crosshairs” of the approaching winter storm, said Albano. The area has a 100% chance of precipitation Wednesday. Although The Weather Channel’s forecast calls for more snow in northern Illinois, Peoria should see between 3-6 inches inches. Albano estimated that the area will receive at least 4 inches.

Two major winter storms are expected to hit the Midwest this week, with moderate to heavy snowfall in the Chicago area. Between the two storms, residents could see close to a foot of snow from Wednesday through Saturday.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning Monday afternoon for Kent and Sussex countries in Delaware. The warning, which takes effect at 1 p.m. Tuesday, is calling for 5 to 9 inches of snow in central and southern Delaware.
