GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The City of Greenville said Unity Park playground is temporarily closed as crews work on the area in preparation for summer guests.

Despite the parking struggle, Unity Park goers said it’s always worth it. Filled with playgrounds, restaurants, and nearby trails, the park has become a Greenville fan favorite.

At Unity Park, there will be live music from the Company Band at 6 p.m. and 246 Army Band at 7:30 p.m. As well as food trucks and Pepsi stations in the park. There will be free and paid parking.

Only 189 days after the groundbreaking of Unity Park in March, community members gathered Saturday in downtown Ellensburg to celebrate the new park’s opening with music, fun and performances.
