One person has died after neighbors reported hearing loud "booms" before a house caught fire in Penn Hills on Tuesday afternoon. The Penn Hills Fire Marshal confirmed to KDKA-TV that an 84-year-old woman died in the fire as she was unable to get out.

An 84-year-old Allegheny County woman died on Tuesday in a house fire and explosion. Firefighters said they were dispatched to a home in the 300 block of College Street in Penn Hills at about 3:37 p.m. for a report of a two-alarm fire and explosion, according to WPXI and TribLive.

The Red Cross said it’s assisting two people following a house fire in Penn Hills early Thursday morning. Fire crews were called to the 200 block of Thompson Run Road around 3 a.m. multi-family home on fire. Penn Hills No. 7 VFC said a fire in the wall extended to the roof of the home. Fire officials said four people were displaced.
