Say those who have been there, all available evidence suggests that whoever was behind the wave of cuts at National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Weather Service has never worked in a forecast office during a severe-thunderstorm or tornado outbreak.

Most of Arkansas is forecast for what the National Weather Service is calling an "an all-hazards severe weather episode" on Friday, including the potential for tornadoes, hail and damaging winds.

The first severe threat of the season arrives late Friday, according to the National Weather Service. And while it's still too early to get into much detail, here's what forecasters are saying about storm chances.
