Former Hornets coach Steve Clifford supposedly moved into the team’s front office ahead of last season. We’re not sure what Clifford actually did in the front office, but he’s moving back into coaching now.

The Phoenix Suns announced first-year head coach Jordan Ott’s coaching staff for the 2025-26 season on Tuesday, Aug. 12. Jesse Mermuys, DeMarre Carroll, Brian Randle, Chaisson Allen, John Little, Mike Muscala and Sean Dwyer are Ott’s assistants, with Mateen Cleaves serving as a player development coach/leadership assistant.

The Suns have officially announced the coaching staff that will work under new head coach Jordan Ott during his first year on the job. Most, but not all, of Phoenix’s new coaches were previously reported — now they’ve formally been hired. Here’s the Suns’ new team of assistant coaches:
