Sean Payton reacted to the hiring of his former New Orleans Saints assistant Aaron Glenn as head coach of the New York Jets:
So it should come as no surprise that with the Broncos’ success, other teams have taken notice. Saturday afternoon, the New York Jets agreed in principle to make Darren Mougey their new general manager, a source confirmed to The Post.
The hiring cycle has been a long process for the Jets after firing head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas during the season. New York interviewed over 30 candidates in total between their two big openings before finally settling on Mougey and Aaron Glenn.
The Broncos' success was bound to lead to some changes. The post Jets Make Announcement on Highly Respected Broncos Executive appeared first on Heavy Sports.
The Denver Broncos have a great staff around Sean Payton and the players. Sure, the players do most of the work on the field. But there is a difference between Sean Payton's first year and this year.

Jets decide on new general manager
The New York Jets have a new general manager to go with their new head coach. The Jets are hiring Denver Broncos assistant GM Darren Mougey as their new general manager, according to multiple reports. Mougey has scouted and worked on the front office for Denver since 2012.
Darren Mougey replaces Joe Douglas, who was fired as GM late in the 2024 season after failing to make the playoffs over a six-year tenure.
The wait for the Jets general manager continued Friday. The team interviewed Broncos assistant GM Darren Mougey and Bengals senior personnel executive Trey Brown on Thursday but they still had not hired anyone as of Friday evening.

New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn is unlikely to hire special teams coach Mike Westhoff, but that doesn't mean the guru can't assist in the hiring process.
Darren Mougey, a longtime Broncos scout and executive who became their assistant GM in 2022, is the new general manager of the Jets, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
