The defense team for a man accused of killing four University of Idaho students in 2022 might ask a judge to take the death penalty off the table because of autism, court records show.

In a motion filed on Monday, it appears that Kohberger's defense team is asking the judge to strike the death penalty as a sentencing option.

Ahead of the trial in the University of Idaho murders case, Bryan Kohberger’s defense team has filed motion to remove the death penalty and may be preparing to argue the accused killer has autism. NBC’s Laura Jarrett reports for TODAY.
