Since Tuesday evening, most of the viewing area has picked up at least 2-5″ of snow, with the heaviest snow falling east of Highway 17 and along the coastal communities. Some areas along the Outer Banks will end up with 6-8″ of snow before the last of the snowflakes depart by late morning.

A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Thursday at 8:06 p.m. for snow showers until 9:30 p.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie as well as Crawford County.

A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 4:27 p.m. for icy roads and snow until Friday at 9 a.m. for Coffee, Dale, Henry, Geneva and Houston counties.
