The Lakewood Church matriarch died “of natural causes, peacefully at her home,” according to her son Joel Osteen

"Dodie" Osteen, a Baytown native, was the widow of Lakewood co-founder John Osteen. She handled prayer duties and funeral at the church, the Houston Chronicle reported in 2016. She credited her faith with healing her through major health scares, including a bout of liver cancer, and even hosted a drive-by healing service outside the church.
