For years, the Devils sat at or near the top of every analyst’s pipeline rankings. Having two No. 1 overall picks in the span of three years will do that for you. Now in 2025, as those players reach their primes, New Jersey’s prospect pool is seeing a bit of a drop off.

New Jersey has attempted to turn the corner as an organization and become a consistently competitive NHL team. The Devils have graduated a lot of players from the prospect ranks, but their pipeline stays strong on the backs of a trio of great young defensemen: Simon Nemec, Anton Silayev and their budding star Luke Hughes.

In last year’s prospect pipeline list, the Rangers ranked as the 15th best team, as the Blueshirts saw a slight drop off. The only teams ranked behind the Rangers in this list are the Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Maple Leafs,
