Wegmans is recalling its brand of medium camembert cheese and products that contain it due to potential listeria contamination, which can lead to serious illness.

Wegmans Food Markets is recalling some of its cheese products after learning that it could be contaminated with the bacteria listeria monocytogenes. The company is recalling its Wegmans Medium Camembert Soft Ripened Cheese and various other products that contain this ingredient, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued an alert warning of a recall of several Wegman's cheese products due to the risk of listeria contamination.

The grocery store asked customers not to consume four products containing the cheese sold in stores from July 1 to Aug. 12.

Whether it is as a crowning finale to a meal, an appetiser, or a finger food highlight at a party, a cheese platter is always well received. However, just piling a random selection of cheese, vegetable sticks and fruit onto a plate is not going to do the trick.

FDA recalls Wegmans cheeses in 10 states and regions due to possible Listeria contamination. Affected cheeses include Camembert, Brie and assorted flights sold in July and August. No illnesses have been reported, and Wegmans is offering full refunds for impacted customers.

A Wegmans supplier initiated the recall after being notified by a French supplier that three shipments may be contaminated with listeria.
