Two men were honored in Mitchell on Wednesday for their heroic actions during a fire in Mount Vernon in April.

Appears arsonist set fire to toilet in Mount Vernon fire station Kranick said it appeared an arsonist set fire to a portable toilet.

At around 7:10 p.m., Mount Vernon police and fire departments responded to a fire in the 500 block of Mobile Drive. When they arrived, emergency responders discovered a trailer engulfed in flames.

Deputy Fire Chief Jim Lang, with the Mount Vernon Fire Department, says calls came in at around 8 p.m. Monday for a fire at 745 South 3rd Ave. in Mount Vernon.
