A gas leak in front of Mount Vernon School on Mount Vernon Highway in Sandy Springs was reported on Friday afternoon.

Mount Vernon officials and Atlantis Management Group have arranged a "significant" break in the price of gas for city residents on Sunday, July 3.

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. -- An apparent natural gas leak caused a large explosion that shook a Mount Vernon neighborhood and left a home fully engulfed in flames.

Lanes are closed near 471 Mount Vernon Highway. Chopper 2 flew over the scene and showed crews working to repair the leak near the entrance to Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church.

CenterPoint sent the following statement: We are aware of an incident which occurred today, Sept. 25, during ongoing natural gas maintenance work in Mount Vernon, Ind.
