CINCINNATI — Bengals star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson didn't report for training camp on Tuesday and was officially placed on the NFL's Reserve/Did Not Report list. The 30-year-old wants a new contract and is hoping that his absence is felt and leads to a contract extension in the near future.
Defensive end Trey Hendrickson did not report to Bengals training camp this week and the team made a roster move reflecting that on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, the Bengals officially placed Hendrickson on the reserve/did not report list. Hendrickson's placement on that list allows the Bengals to fine him $50,000 for each day he is absent from training camp (although some teams in the past have chosen to not enforce these fines).
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has been in contact with defensive end Trey Hendrickson to start training camp. The subject of Hendrickson’s contract standoff with the Bengals and his not reporting to camp and practice on Wednesday came up during Burrow’s media session. The Cincinnati Bengals are preparing to enter training camp this week despite still being at odds with two prominent pieces of their defense in sack leader Trey Hendrickson and rookie first-round pick Shemar Stewart.
NFL FANS While much of the country is dealing with terms like "heat dome" and "corn sweat," we're able to turn our minds to the fall as 26 NFL teams reported to training camp on Tuesday. Unsurprisingly,
McLaurin was vital to Jayden Daniels' rookie of the year campaign last season. His All-Pro 2024 saw him lead all wide receivers in red zone touchdowns (10) and his 2.39 yards per route run ranked 20th among wideouts and stood as a personal record. However, he's slated for free agency in 2026 and has only $2.8 million in guarantees this fall.
As the Bengals and Trey Hendrickson continue to battle it out over a new contract, the Browns may dodge the bullet of playing him twice per year.
The Bengals are required to fine Hendrickson $50,000 for each day of camp he misses. In addition, any preseason or regular-season game he misses would result in $877,777 of salary lost, according to Spotrac.
