Ahead of the morning commute Friday, the Tallahassee Police Department is announcing a series of road closures due to icy conditions.

Truman Parkway at President Street is currently closed due to ice. Officials are encouraging drivers to slow down and use caution if they must drive.

Officials are asking Panhandle residents to avoid being on the roads. Freezing temperatures mean icy, dangerous conditions.

: The stretch of U.S. 90 from Galliver Cut Off to Summertime Dr is no longer listed as closed at the FDOT's FL511 site. Although temperatures are creeping up and the snow and ice are melting, icy conditions are still forcing some road closures in the Panhandle.

The only major road closure Friday morning in the Pensacola area was the Interstate 110 overpass in downtown Pensacola.
