PATTY GASSO: I've seen a lot of far home runs, but that was elevated to allow her to really get underneath it and get her power in it. So it was definitely another momentum builder for the team.

Her mother taught young Patty that women can be good at sports, too. “My mom was a very good athlete as well, but she just didn’t have the same opportunities as maybe even I did,” Gasso said.

For Gasso, the 2023 season was just a blur of people telling her, well, if you win five more games, you’ll make history. If you win three more than that, you’ll do this.
