Howard hopped on Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast on Sunday (April 27). He discussed his acting career’s biggest regrets, which included turning down portraying Smokey Robinson after the Motown legend sought him out personally because he was in negotiations to play Marvin Gaye.

Actor Terrence Howard revealed that he refused to portray Marvin Gaye in potential film because of the Motown singer's rumored homosexuality, saying he'd cut his lips off if he ever kissed a man. The former "Empire" star made the confession during a nearly two-hour appearance on Bill Maher's "Club Random" podcast.

I can’t play that character 100 percent,” the “Empire” star said. “I can’t surrender myself to a place that I don’t understand.”
