For the next few weeks, Jets quarterback Justin Fields will wear a protective plastic shield on the outside of his cleats to protect the toe.

The New York Jets ' starting QB was carted off the practice field on Thursday with a toe injury, according to head coach Aaron Glenn. The severity is unknown at this time.
