A manhunt is underway after an inmate was accidentally released from a Texas jail on Sunday, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The release of a man who had been serving a five-year sentence for assault is the second time the jail has released someone prematurely this year.

Troy Dugas, 36, was released from the Harris County Jail around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday after personnel mistakenly believed he was eligible for release, according to preliminary information from the sheriff’s office.
