Starlink experienced an outage Thursday afternoon that went on for 2.5 hours and took down tens of thousands of people's satellite internet service .

Soldiers panicked, drones surveilling Russian forces went dark, and long-range artillery units, reliant on Starlink to aim their fire, struggled to hit targets.

Starlink confirmed the outage, saying in a message posted to its website: "Starlink is currently experiencing a service outage. Our team is investigating."
