The U.S. Dollar edged a little higher in Monday afternoon trade after falling sharply against its Taiwan counterpart throughout the weekend.  The greenback was last up 0.09% to $99.95.  The Taiwan dollar (TWD:USD)  jumped 8% against the U.

The dollar slipped anew on Monday as a meteoric surge in its Taiwanese counterpart stoked speculation some Asian countries were prepared to engineer revaluations of their currencies to win U.S. trade concessions.

Taiwan’s currency and stocks surged Friday on signs trade tensions between US and China may start easing and as US tech earnings boosted the outlook of the island’s semiconductor exports.
