The Boston Red Sox may be losing another player to free agency, per sources. Sox star reliever Chris Martin has turned down a lucrative contract offer from Boston in order to pitch closer to home, per Rob Bradford. That means the Arlington Texas native wanted to sign with the Texas Rangers, which he did, signing a one-year deal .

Chris Martin was largely dominant during a two-year stretch as Boston's setup man. He won't be back in 2025, though, as he just signed with his hometown team.
