Iranian diplomats met counterparts from Germany, Britain and France on Friday for renewed nuclear talks, amid warnings that the three European powers could trigger "snapback" sanctions outlined

The meeting, set to take place in Istanbul, will be the first since Israel’s mid-June attack on Iran, which sparked a 12-day war and targeted key nuclear and military sites.

If talks fail to get back on track, there is a higher risk of further military action against Iran's nuclear program from the United States as well as Israel. Kazem Gharibabadi's latest comments follow his warning that Iran would consider withdrawing from the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) if European powers trigger a mechanism reinstituting international sanctions against the Islamic Republic later this year.
